14 years ago, without offering a title or a salary, Mike Hughes said, "Just get over here and we'll figure it out."  Of course, he was right. I have enjoyed working on and running all kinds of accounts. I became more and more interested in the strategy behind the ideas as well as working with clients to help them figure out solutions to their ever-evolving marketing challenges. Somewhere in all this, I became the spokesman for UPS for a couple years, appearing in 50 commercials as "the whiteboard guy." My hair is shorter now.

 I was borrowed from Martin by McCann NY to pitch and subsequently help build a new agency to run the global Microsoft account. We called it M:United. When I left to reintegrate back into Martin, the shop had about 200 employees across the world. Fun times - lots of stories.

I was in charge of most of Microsoft's consumer goods and enterprise software advertising. Beyond working with Microsoft Word, I’d never worked on a PC before - doing all my designing on a Mac. My clients told me that was fine, but not to bring the Mac out when meeting with Bill Gates or Steve Ballmer. Good advice.

I worked on a variety of clients, including HP, Foster Farms, Specialized Bikes and Budweiser. The Wall Street Journal was also one of my accounts and I began to write headlines for our campaigns. Since then, I have continued to write as well as continue to design and art direct. 

I was lucky to be at Fallon during the "glory days", when everyone I worked with was already an ad legend. I soaked up as  much as I could, learning to improve my craft in print, TV and early digital. I also tried to win as many awards as possible.
